Daniel Bernardi is Chair of the Cinema Department and Executive Director of DocFilm at San Francisco State University. From 1998 to 2000, he worked for the Sci-Fi Channel as a consultant, writer and host of Future Now. Bernardi is also an officer in the United States Navy Reserves. From 2009 to 2010 he served in Iraq with Special Operations Task Force Central training Iraqi Soldiers on combat camera operations. Bernardi is interested in making VDC films featuring veterans that have used their experiences in the military, however challenging, to achieve success in their private lives. He is especially interested in telling the stories of vets from other countries, from the Korean War, and from the Iraq War. He welcomes vets from all branches of military service.
Michael A. Behrens is an award winning artist, business consultant, and film producer with 20 years of experience. He is the Director of the Documentary Film Institute at San Francisco State University. In addition, he is on the Board of Directors for the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council, Emergency USA, Bona Fide Films and NarrativeTrack Inc. Michael holds a Master of Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco.
Robert Barbarino is an independent filmmaker with experience in experimental film and music video. He specializes in cinematography and sound recording. In addition to coordinating production for VDC, Robert supports several DocFilm initiatives and productions. He is currently an MFA student in the Cinema Department at San Francisco State University. He earned his B.A. in Film Studies from Sacramento State University.
